Homeowners, Judy Archibold and husband, Ray, decided to design a sophisticated kitchen plan that would combine a working kitchen and the entire downstairs. Along with builder, Witt Construction, they created an innovative design in their home near Saratoga Springs, New York.

A dual-function central island divides the 13′ 6″ x 21′ kitchen, whose sleek appliances and contemporary-style sinks and faucets contrast with the stained and painted wood on the floor, ceiling, cabinetry and trim.
